i just watched Six Degrees of Murder S02E05

"39-year old Melissa Lewis has just made partner at a prestigious law firm, but when she is found murdered in a particularly personal manner, police must scour her most intimate professional and private relationships to find her killer."

this post contains spoilers

this as in all ID shows features actual crimes. it also lists the forensics found.

Melissa Lewis was reported missing, police and family arrive at her house. in her garage was pepper spray and they found a button and grocery bags and signs of a struggle. her car was still there.

what happened? how do you reconstruct a crime scene from this evidence?

later her body was found. she was bludgeon and strangled. kinda like Jonbenet. on her clothing they applied luminol and discovered it has biological fluid thought to be semen

testing showed no semen. instead it was saliva

it had dna.

what happened? how do you reconstruct a crime scene from this evidence?

watching this

if you are murdered and your story becomes news or a tv documentary many private details of your life and love become discussed. of course you're dead but still.

they think maybe her ex husband or ex bf did this.

they test their DNA with dna found on her clothing. no match. they ruled them out.

eventually they found a suspect via a tip Tony Villegas wife Debra reported him as a suspect.
DNA matched. he was charged.

Melissa Lewis was a lawyer who made partner at age 39, she was helping her friend Debra in her divorce with Tony.

Tony was enraged and stalked Melissa and killed her.

they talk about reconstructing the crime scene with the evidence then available.

they find forensic evidence at the crime scene and body and the question is how do you account for that evidence?

the show reconstructs the crime using actors, and they explain how this left behind the evidence how it accounts for the evidence.

one question is how he entered Melissa's home as a home intruder.

he entered at night via garage.

Melissa first went grocery shopping and picked up groceries and this was caught on surveillance tape

then she arrived at home at night. she open her garage door and pulled in with her car. undetected Tony snuck in, and then attacked.

the relevance to JonBenet Ramsey

1 it shows how to reconstruct a crime scene with evidence found at the scene
2 it shows a possible way an intruder got into the house undetected.

Melissa Lewis attorney did not notice or observe Tony Villegas slipping in when she opened her garage door and pulled in with her car.

it is believed this is Tony Villegas first and only murder, due to anger about Melissa being Debra's divorce lawyer

even if James Kolar is 100% that no intruder entered the basement window via intact spider web found on police video the day after,

the intruder in JonBenet Ramsey had 2 chances to slip in via garage door, when Ramsey left to go to the White Party around 3pmor when they arrived home from White Party around 9pm

The Melissa Lewis is intriguing and reading what you posted there was not much more evidence than the Ramsey case yet the DA was able to get a conviction.

Going under the garage door would be a good way to gain access to the Ramsey home. It is unlikely the Ramseys in the car would have noticed since you never expect some stranger in the garage. If he hid til John had fully backed out and the door shut he could enter at his leisure. Most leave the door leading into the house from the garage unlocked anyway. I have thought it was unwise to focus on the window as only point of entry since Kolar pretty much ruled that out due to the spider web. I wonder what he would have used to discount it as a point of entry if the Ramseys had cleared any cop webs and other debris on a regular basis.

i forgot to blog this but on one show on ID

a black guy enters the home of 2 white college age females, undetected by simply going through the front door right after they enter with vacation luggage.

he then hid in a closet and attacked them at night. a white college age male enters saw the black male was stabbed by him, then watched him escape though window.

they did forensic tests on the window and found no forensic evidence the black male left through the window.

police thought the story was made up, with the white male being the attacker, but prosecution decline to prosecute.

it was cracked when 1- a baseball cap was left in the alley had dna on it that matched when this black male attacked a second grand mother young girl in a home, and killed the grand mother

they dna tested the cable ties on found dna that also matched dna on baseball cap.

this is a good case but i forget the names

they caught him and proved it with dna. touch dna. the dna on the cable tie and baseball cap was touch dna

he said he really did exist the window.

i think this was on the case with paula zahn
