the following is an example of a claim i've seen at ws ffj reddit docg etc.

nimyat of reddit wrote:
There is absolutely 0 reason to start to write a draft ransom note and then write the real thing and make it that ridiculously long.

If it was a premeditated kidnapping, ('hid in the house' theory) why the fuck wouldn't you bring a ransome note with you and why the hell would you start to draft one and then write one on paper found in the house.

If it was a burglary turned kidnapping, why would you start to draft a ransom note, and then write the real thing 4 pages long? You would scribble something like "I've taken your daughter, dont contact police, deposit money at this location at this time if you want to see her again." A panicked burglar does not sit and start writing about his 'organisation'.

A lot of people get bogged down in the details of the case, because it is a fascinating one and it is very interesting, but the ransom note is the most ridiculous thing ever and was totally written by one of the family in my opinion. They also completely over thought it - mentioning the fathers business, his bonus, writing 4 pages worth etc.

There's no way the family wasn't involved. As for which one did it, that is what is hard to prove.

docg makes a similar claim

Questions

An intruder intending to express his anger or disdain for the Ramseys would have had no reason to write a meaningless ransom note. A kidnapper would not have left both the note and the body. If the parents were involved in this together, as so many assume, such a note might serve to throw the police off the track, but only if the body were found, days later, in some remote area. Or never found. With the body hidden in the house, where it is sure to be discovered, the note only creates problems for the Ramseys, the only ones who could "logically" have written it. If they were not planning on getting the body out of the house before the police came, then why would they write an obviously phony note?

Also, why was the note hand printed? Why not print it via computer? Or paste words together from newspapers? If the parents, or anyone at all close to the family, wrote it, they would be risking exposure for sure.

Answers

No intruder would have had anything to gain by writing the ransom note. No intruder would have any reason to write it. A kidnapper would have taken the child (or her body) with him. If something had gone wrong with his plan, he would have had no reason to leave a possibly incriminating note. Someone intending to frame John or Patsy would not have written the note in his own hand, as that would be evidence of an intruder. The conclusion is simple: there was no kidnapper. There was no intruder. The note must have been written by someone on the inside -- and it does indeed read like a staged kidnapping attempt.

both of these posters, one on reddit, another at solvingjonbenet.blog

fail in that they don't exclude this possibility,

an intruder is a sociopath, and the RN is his idea of sociopathic humor.

this is an article on kristen lindsey

Veterinarian Kristen Lindsey is a Sociopath

Update April 21: The police investigation is completed and findings of the investigation have been turned over to the Austin County District attorney under Texas Penal Code 42.092.

On Wednesday, April 16, young, pretty and ambitious Texas veterinarian Kristen Lindsey casually posted a picture of herself on Facebook bragging about killing a cat with a bow and arrow. And then she became infamous.

It turns out the cat was someone’s beloved pet and his name was Tiger. Tiger was affectionate and adorable and liked riding a tractor with his guardian.

Kristen Lindsey didn’t think she was doing anything wrong, killing a “feral tomcat” by shooting an arrow through his head. “My first bow kill lol!” she bragged, “The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s head! Vet of the year award, gladly accepted!” Her post ends with an emoticon that translates as “crying laughing.”

Around the world, she has been called a sociopath. But what if she had shot another kind animal?

The Austin County police, the District Attorney, local animal control and the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners have all opened investigations. Dr. Lindsey has been fired by her employer, she is probably going to get her license revoked and she will likely be charged with animal cruelty.

The only reason she might be charged is because she was cruel to a cat, not because she was cruel. Kristen Lindsey was only doing what all hunters do — they callously stalk and kill animals who have families and who want to live.

Looking at this crime in a wider context, from the animal protection perspective, that cat suffered no more or less than all other hunted animals, and like them, he deserved the right to live in peace far away from violent animal abusers who enjoy killing animals for “sport.” Had she killed any other animal, a rat, for example, or a gopher, a deer, a coyote, duck, pheasant, trout, whale, rhino, giraffe, lion, elephant, I could go on…she could have gotten her thrills, had her laugh, the approbation of her hunting community and she would have kept her job, her reputation, her privacy and her life as it was.

How one thinks about the Kristen Lindsey affair will divide us. The line which separates us determines which side one is on: in this case, the right side or the wrong side. There are those who have empathy and those who do not and those who are bent out of shape because of the species of animal she killed in cold blood are deluded about their own morality.

It is immoral to knowingly cause pain and suffering to any sentient being. That’s right, I said it. Hunters are sociopaths who are allowed to use weak, widely accepted excuses, unchallenged, to get away with bloody murder. Their excuses are easily debunked by science. Animal killers have a choice to lead a peaceful and healthy life and they choose to harm animals.

Millions of Americans are indoctrinated to accept the routine abuse of other species. Those animal enterprises making the decisions about which species are to remain on the antiquated OK-to-torture-and-kill list are making a lot of money — billions. They are, to name a few, Safari clubs, hunting clubs, the NRA, weapons manufacturers, the fishing and hunting tourism industry, Big Ag, Big Food, Big Pharma, the bio-medical research industry, the army, Big Oil, the fashion industry, zoos, aquariums and all the corrupt politicians who are paid to service them.

Lawmakers are paid off to keep the status quo, to keep all the animal abusers in business, to keep all animals down there below the threshold of status worthy of compassion, no legal status, hunted, incarcerated, experimented on, butchered, raped, and worse, in protracted anguish, drowning in blood.

But let’s get back to Tiger the cat and that nasty piece of work who killed him.

As I write this, the nine state board examiners are meeting to discuss an emergency suspension of Kristen Lindsey’s license as well as potential fines and penalties that could be applied to her case.

Here’s what we know:

1. She killed a cat.

2. She was happy to kill a cat.

3. She shot the cat in the face (look at the arrow and its direction).

4. She was close enough to the cat to look him in the eye before she shot him in the face.

5. He didn’t die right away. A DVM who looked at the photo stated the limbs weren’t limp enough. The cat was still alive when she was holding him up by her arrow through his head. He suffered.

6. Becky Lindsey, possibly her mother, admitted (in the comment section of the post) taking the gruesome photo, meaning at least two people participated in this crime.

7. She has been fired from the clinic and her name on the sign outside the clinic was covered in duct tape.

Here is what she wrote about herself on her blog:

I love Wyoming and the mountains…the Big Horns especially…but any will do when it really comes down to it. I love hunting, fly fishing, pack trips, the outdoors in general, horses, skiing, dancing, whiskey, my friends, my family, God, raising hell, my daddy, and sheep…ya, that’s right. I love having good times with good people. I recently discovered that what’s important in life is to simply live, laugh, love & learn. And to find a way to be happy with the everyday simple things in life. I was accepted to vet school at CSU so I’m in the middle of spending 4 years of my life in Ft. Collins, CO so that I have something to call a career! If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll attempt to marry someone rich so I can spend the rest of my days at higher elevations doing what I love.

And here is what she wrote under the heading “Current Interests”

Living my days to the fullest, finding the meaning of happiness, killing things or trying to kill things (animals, a full glass of whiskey, hangovers, etc.), my friends, spending time with my dad, the outdoors in general, fly fishing on Shell Creek until it’s too dark to see, hunting with my dad and better yet…learning from my dad as we hunt, a good downpour in the high country followed by great fishing, the smell of the mountains after a good rain and the smell of rain in general, God, ever little favor from my wonderful mother, living, laughing, my great brother, horses, seeing old friends that you never see and feeling that you’re still just as close as ever, family, the feeling of hope, a good drink, dessert, a really fun night and talking about it the next morning, equine veterinary medicine, all of my best friends who know who they are, rodeos.

Her father indoctrinated her to violence against animals. This is how the cycle of violence keeps turning, generation after generation — abusers teaching their children that violence against animals is acceptable. It’s not. This is why we will continue to put obstacles in their way. We will shout them down until the voices for peace are louder than the voices for violence.

So while the officials “investigate” what we already know to be true, animal protection advocates have mobilized to follow her to the ends of the earth and make sure she never gets another job in a veterinary clinic again. Together we might have buried her career but we are sadly unable to stop her from killing again.

Kristen Lindsey won’t stop hurting animals. She’s a hunter.
And why the most hated veterinarian in the world is just like millions of other people

in Kristen Lindsey, and her mother's, and several of her facebook friends' sociopathic sense of humor, what Kristen Lindsey did was fun and hilarious.

it's funny and hilarious in a twisted way that a veterinarian who is supposed to care for cats, kills one and posts it.
it's funny to her sociopathic friends. she thought it was funny. they thought it was funny.

the only good tom cat is a dead tom cat is funny in the same way that the only good indian is a dead indian.

killing cats is all in good fun.

unless of course you're a cat lover and animal rights activist.
Kristen Lindsey is/was a veterinarian she graduated from COLORADO STATE VET SCHOOL, she was a LICENSE with Texas board of vet examiners.

if we apply the RDI logic to Kristen Lindsey, she had no reason to kill a cat, and no reason to brag about it, except that it was fun.

Jonbenet' isn't the only crime. there's no reason for terrorists to hijack a plane and crash it into a world trade center, except that they did.

no reason for a suicidal pilot to fly into a mountain full of people, when he could kill himself only, only that he did.

here's another sociopathic story

the murder of skylar neese

her sociopathic friends Sheila Eddy and Rachel Shoaf had no reason to kill Skylar except that they are sociopaths, and they thought of killing her as a thrill kill. it was their idea of fun. for them, killing their friend was a fun awesome good time

girls killing girls is fun.

if you use RDI "logic" there is no reason for Sheila Eddy to recruit Rachel Shoaf and to kill their friend Sklar Neese. No reason. Except of course she did. No reason to kill her but they did.

not only did they kill their friend, they tweeted about it. if Jonbenet's killer had no reason to kill jonbenet and leave her body in the house and a ransom note, Sheila Eddy, who was the prime suspect and last known person with Skylar Neese, rumor, has no reason to tweet about her murdering Skylar, except she did.

not only did Sheila murder her friend by stabbing her 50+ times, she then entered her parents home to mourn her and to help look for her and tweeted

if you apply RDI logic to Sheilla Eddy, Shiella had no reason to murder Skylar, and recruit Rachael Shoaf, no reason to tweet it on twitter and fb.

Fact is she did.

Sheilla of course is a sociopath.

What RDI are claiming is that since there is both a ransom note kidnapping and ransom demand and the body, therefore they want to eliminate the intruder.

what is known about sociopaths is that this is simply invalid. a sociopath could have done all the above, with the ransom note being a kind of joke or humor.

in terms of forensic science and the courts, attempting to prove RDI based on the above kind of reasoning is simply nonsense. there is a need for science.

the only way RDI could succeed with this line of reasoning is if there is also forensic handwriting and forensic linguistics proving Patsy wrote the the RN.

the forensic handwriting and linguistics eliminate Patsy and John as the author.

the only scientifically reasonable conclusion therefore is the DNA on jonbenet's longjohns also wrote the RN, and he could very well have done so for sociopathic reasons, that it is his sense of humor.
