A teenager was found dead by her twin sister after hanging herself in her bedroom surrounded by family photographs, an inquest has heard.

Heather Blower, 18, had spent Boxing Day at a party with her twin sister, Heidi, and close friends but at the end of the night, after finding herself at home alone, she lined up the photographs of her loved ones and wrote a note saying: 'Sorry xxxx.'

Heidi stayed on at the party, but returned home later to find her twin sister's body.

An inquest into the death of the teenager from Didsbury, Manchester, heard she had hanged herself.

The hearing was told that Heather had struggled with depression, and although she had told friends she wanted to die, her mood appeared to have improved after she was prescribed anti-depressants.

The tragedy occurred on December 27 last year after Heather enjoyed Christmas day with her family before spending Boxing Day at the party.

Her friend Shannon Ellis told the hearing in Manchester: 'She would tell me that she wanted to die and I would tell her that she would feel better soon and how she felt then, she would not always feel.

'On Boxing Day she told me she wanted to die but that she was glad that she pulled herself out of it and that she loved us and would not want to leave us. She said she was glad she's got us all.

'That night she must have had about three or four cans of beer in the house and about two pints of beer when we went out but she would sneak a vodka and Coke because Heidi didn't like her drinking it.'

Miss Ellis told the inquest how she had left the party with Heather but they went their separate ways when they got back to her home at the request of the teenager.

FORT LEE, N.J. -- Port Authority police on Tuesday identified a George Washington Bridge suicide victim as a 28-year-old Orthodox woman from Brooklyn.

A motorist reported seeing Rebecca S. Wasserstrum go over the railing of the southside walkway around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.

The driver said he got out of his car, looked over the railing and saw her body in the water, he said. The NYPD Harbor Unit retrieved it.

Wasserstrum's car was found at 178th Street and Broadway, two blocks from the bridge.

Hers was the 7th suicide from the bridge in 2016, Pentangelo said. There were 18 last year.

and she seems educated

Rebecca, who grew up in Sheepshead Bay, graduated Cum Laude from Brooklyn College in the spring of 2010, with a B.S. in Biology, said a college spokesperson. Rebecca was one of the first students to win a prestigious internship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital called the Stacey Garil Womack Internship, an experiential program working with oncology doctors, according to college records.

Rebecca’s parents — Sarah Brenner Wasserstrum and David Wasserstrum — were also Brooklyn College graduates, class of 1977, according to the school. She is also survived by a brother Isaac.

Friends and family we spoke to said Rebecca was funny, smart, energetic, and compassionate. She loved science, and helped out at group homes with people suffering from mental and physical disabilities.

“She was a true giver and overflowing with happiness,” said Sarah. “She wanted to make everyone happy. She’d wear tutus and fedoras, mismatched socks, just something to bring everyone up.”
