dental pain is excruciating i'm gonna lose 2 more teeth :(
Fri Mar 22, 2019
when i was a kid i didn't see what the big deal about dentists were.
now that i'm an adult, and i have excruciating dental pain, which tylenol and ibuprofen doesn't do a whole lot to help,
dental pain is excruciating i'm gonna lose 2 more teeth
i lost 2 molars which may or may not have been saveable.
i have 2 more molars, lower left that is causing me excruciating dental pain, i paid an endotontist $900
i went to an endotontist hoping for 1-2 root canals.
he said one tooth is fractured and cannot be saved, i need to go to a dentist to have it pulled.
the second tooth might be saved but there is a gum pocket with gum disease.
i need a periodontist to address that before he, the endotontist can do anything.
at this point i have learned a lot of new things
endontists only do root canals, in attempt to save teeth.
dentists is a jack of all trades
periodontists deal with gum disease.
my research into alzheimer's there's a theory that alzheimer's is due to gum disease.
i've been living mostly free of teeth pain all these years, and well when it rains it pours.
none of this is covered by insurance. i have to pay out of pocket
maybe socialism and socialized medicine and medicare with dental for all is a good idea?
one thing though is that i can make a dental appointment with a regular dentist, almost same day.
over night i had teeth pain i called an endontist and he said i could come in later that afternoon.
same with regular dentist.
i strongly suspect that since dental is not a covered service for most health coverage, and you have to pay out of pocket, that clears the lines with its high price tag.
whereas with specialist doctors i have to make appointments as much as 2-3 months out.
dermatology was the worse, a regular GP wouldn't prescribe accutane for me and my acne so i had to go to a dermatologist
and that was booked out to 6 months, but once i was on accutane i could make monthly repeated visits.
accutane mostly worked, though i felt nauseous and extremely dry, dry skin and dry eyes. i don't think i'd go through it again for the occasional acne i still get
the only pain killers i was told to use for dental are tylenol and ibuprofen which um i don't know maybe a little bit of relief?
i'd be a christian and follower of jesus if he can answer my prayers but apparently i'm going to have to once again have 1-2 teeth extracted, which is a very painful and unpleasant experience.
in my experience praying to jesus for healing and pain relief doesn't seemingly work. i still feel pain.
if it did work not only would it save me a lot of money time and pain and trips to the dentist, but i'd be a believer.
oh i also had 4 wisdom teeth extracted and that was terrible to. i had in the bone deeply impacted wisdom teeth.
i've not called the dentist but sometime next week i plan to have at least 1 extraction.
i know dentists do their best but fuck the pain. and prices.
this tooth pain was relatively sudden for me. i wonder what if i was traveling in a foreign nation, or i didn't have access to a dentist.
if a dentist couldn't stop the pain i'd probably kill myself. the endotist told me my tooth is fractured and an extraction can stop the pain, but only a dentist does that, or an oral surgeon, not an endontist. he couldn't remove that tooth when i asked.

Re: dental pain is excruciating i'm gonna lose 2 more teeth :(
I had arm surgery this morning and really can’t type too much but I know quite a bit about this subject. Is there a dental school nearby? An extraction is simple and requires less skill than a root canal guy. I’ve had luck in the last few years with Perfect Teeth. Their pricing is reasonable and the Drs are good.
Tomorrow I’ll try dictating my typing.

I’ve always had root canals done by a endodontist but perio services are sometimes performed by general dentists as a specialty service. Perfect teeth is like that. I hope you are feeling better. Most dentists will give you painkillers for certain services or if you have to wait and are in pain.

i now know that endodontist is less expensive than dental implant, but my mother who had root canal done still had enough tooth decay to have them extracted, over the years.

I thought about telling you that my experience has been that sinus pressure can aggravate a toothache. Likewise, relieving that pressure can alleviate the pain from the tooth. I’m still typing in a limited way. Glad you are better.
