excruciating dental pain right now :( if i were a john doe
Fri Apr 05, 2019
a couple of weeks ago i had excruciating dental pain on sunday and on monday i went to an endotontist who told me i had 2 molars with problems, one the tooth was cracked and cannot be saved. it has to be extracted. he put a temporary filling but he explained it needs to be removed, and sooner rather than later. the second molar needs a root canal which also is causing pain, and that molar is adjacent.
he told me 2 molars adjacent both with problems is rare. sadly it happened to me though rare.
he used a temporary filling for both. i was pain free.
right now Fri Apr 05, 2019 11:21 pm
a couple hours ago i felt some soreness and now it is excruciating dental pain and most dental offices are closed on saturday.
i took several of both ibuprofen and Tylenol, both, to relieve my pain.
most dental offices are closed on saturday. i have pain right now. i didn't have pain this morning when i woke up. its preventing me from falling asleep right now.
so i have to somehow wait till monday to get it extracted.
my views on teeth and dental issues have certainly changed a lot in a span of last year or so.
i have always brushed and flossed, but now it seems my teeth are all failing
and i'm learning about dental implants, abutments, and crowns and their $4k price tag per tooth i'm getting a crash course in dentistry
i took dental health for granted all these decades. i do floss and brush.
if i were a john doe and they want to identify me via dental records
thus far i lost my upper left and right back molars to tooth decay. they were extracted.
and now i'm losing my left back 2 molars to tooth decay.
i suspect that my front teeth is easy for my toohbrush and floss to reach, but my back teeth was always difficult for me to reach via flossing.
end result extreme pain.
i can't imagine how people dealt with dental pain in the past. i'd commit suicide if i couldn't get it treated. i'm going to look into fluoride tablets
if i were traveling and in a foreign nation right now, or even in another state of the USA, i'm not sure how i would deal with this sudden onset of dental pain.
so the solution to my dental pain is removing more teeth.
right now i use electric tooth brush, water pick, flossing and mouth wash in addition to tooth paste.
just earlier on friday i had no problems, the endontist warned me that the filling is temporary.
now i feel extreme pain again, it is constant and i can't turn it off.
i've had my molars extracted and that wasn't fun either. i was bleeding, i soaked through cotton with blood, and it throbbed.
the dentist only said tynelol and ibuprofen, he didn't prescribe an opiate pain killer which is what i wanted. so i still felt pain but more of an ache.
oh and when i got my tooth extracted, the dentist injected with a sharp needle pain killer. the initial insertion was painful, but then it quickly got deaden. it got really numb.
the smell of burning teeth is also terrible.
i now know why people don't care for dentists and fear dentists. but for me not going to a dentist asap is even more painful.
i've studied religions. in buddhism, the teachings of the buddha is that life is suffering, but that the noble path and 8 fold truths leads to nirvana.
i agree with buddha dental pain is suffering, but it seems a dentist is the path to less suffering from dental pain. of course i don't believe in christian prayer either or new age healing. i need a dentist who will cause some pain to me in removing my teeth
i asked the endotist what caused my tooth to fracture and he said he doesn't know.
the endontist told me the second molar left bottom can be saved via root canal, but there is gum disease with a gum pocket of 8mm.
again i got a crash course in all these new concepts, but gum pockets should be around 1-2 mm gum disease is a possible cause of alzheimer's dementia which my mom has.
if dental impants and crowns were say $500 okay. but actual cost is closer to $4k per ooth, with crown and implant, and i have to wait at least 6 months after implants for bone growth.
dentist told me implants aren't painful
right now i don't think i can fall asleep easily with my dental pain, i may take a lot of benadryls
it's friday and i have to wait till monday morning to see a dentist
i'm feeling some anxiety in that it's friday night for me, i'm in pain now, and i have to somehow last till monday to see the dentist.
so i have to somehow last from now till monday, in pain.
i know why people are addicted to opiates. only opiates seem to fix physical pain, not prayer or meditation.
one thing i noticed,
in the past i went to 2 different female dentists in 2 different practices based on a coupon in the mail $59 teeth cleaning and x-ray. i did get teeth cleaning and x-ray.
but they don't remove teeth.
i had to go to a male dentist, who is closed on the weekend, to get my teeth, my molars removed.
it takes a lot of physical strength and force and seeing those pliers and instruments and feeling him yanking hard on my teeth, and twisting them, i could feel it but he deaden the pain, and smelling the burning teeth
its miserable and i have to do this again with my lower back left molars.
so if i wind up an unidentified john doe found in the woods somewhere due to murder or accident,
this post is my dental records. missing upper left back and right molars,
soon to be missing lower left 2 molars. i've had multiple dentists look at my other teeth with xrays and thus far they look fine to them.
so redpill john doe can be identified with these dental records.
i had implants and their costs explained to me. one thing dentist said is i'm still young so it is a very long term investment.
just 1 tooth decay and you can have agonizing pain.

The only homeopathic remedy for tooth pain that I know of is Clove Oil. It’s extremely bitter to taste but it works for a little while. CBD oil might be good too but perhaps is out of reach there. I’m sorry you are suffering. The Benadryl is a good idea, it might make you sleep as well as relieve some sinus pressure. Take care.

The other thing to consider if you are losing all your teeth is Clear Choice. They pull all your teeth, drill four posts into your jaw and fit you with a whole new set of teeth. I think it costs around $30k. If you have a job I think they are willing to finance it like a new auto.

yeah i actually asked about that for my mom who also is missing teeth and yes i was told $30-40k. she has several teeth missing. at age 76 and with alzheimer's i am unsure if i should invest that kind of money. medicare doesnt pay for it
the dentist wouldn't allow me to keep the first molar he pulled on grounds it is medical waste, but strangely he let me keep the second molar.
i may post pictures of it.
the insane costs of dentistry made me realize that $50 for electric brush and $9 tooth paste and mouth wash is peanuts compared to $30k plus the pain.
sad thing though is they don't completely work. i brush and flossed.
one new thing only in 2019 medicare is paying for teeth cleaning and dental xrays twice a year.
even last year 2018 medicare didn't pay for any dental. not even teeth cleaning.
aetna sent me documents as to the change in plan.
