Alzheimer’s and what an old lady shared
Thu May 16, 2019
hi,
good to hear from you,
funny you mention this
i've heard this and wondered if i should move to colorado despite all the weird crimes and school shootings lol
doctors can only prescribe FDA and AMA approved treatments, which for my mom includes only donzepril, mementatine generics of aricept and nmeanda, which is rather cheap i must say but ineffective.
these drugs slightly improve some symptoms but do not treat the underlying problem, and patient dies in the end.
at brand name prices i don't think they are worth it, but now they are generic my copay is close to zero that i force my mom to take it as she refuses to do anything.
my mom is taking other rx drugs from simvastatin for cholesterol to lorsartan for blood pressure to metformin for blood sugar, which may help with dementia but an MD may not prescribe them just for dementia.
one drug she also takes is lovaza/vascapa prescription fish oil. as the capsules are too big to swallow i cut them open and put them in my mom's milk which is disgusting but she drinks it.
imagine fish and milk. yuck. it though lowered her triglycerides from over 300 to around 80.
today i took my mom to a church prayer, on the theory that the placebo effect is a powerful thing.
an elderly lady who was herself very old wrote this list for me
she wrote this today, same day as searchingal mentioning magic mushrooms
i appreciated her effort but i drew up my own list from green tea to fish oil to niacin and zinc.
for example i give my mom a standard kirland cosstco brand vitamin
and i chop it up in tiny little pieces, first in half then half of a half
my mom has diffuclty swallowing and if they aren't small pills or i can't put it in her milk it's a nogo.
at the very least i want to make sure that these things work in mice alzheimer's.
she and a couple of others prayed for my mom
asking jesus to heal her and then to expel the poisonous cells in my mom's brains.
coming from a scientific worldview i'm a bit skeptical but i know the placeo effect is important.
superdave loved calling me placebo LOL. he's funny pedo.
this elderly woman who is a christian and wrote this list asked jesus to expel the alzheimer's disease from my mom's brain in the name of jesus.
i don't think this way but my mom seemingly accepts it.
i don't think it works but then again i believe in ufo and bigfoot stories so why not?
alzheimer's is a 100% fatal disease and there are no effective treatments.
what i do to vet the supplements is i go through pubmed and science news articles and if it works on mice it's good enough.
it takes years for drugs to be approved and alzheimer's has a 99% failure rate.
of the common conditions that affect humans from high cholesterol to bacterial and viral infections to blood pressure diabetes depression etc,
alzheimer's is one of the most common among the elderly for which there is no effective treatment at present.

Forty years ago a took these a few times. I lived out by the Boulder Reservoir and could stay up all night contemplating the stars and Universe with a peace and knowing of my existence in it. At that time, aliens could have approached me and I would have probably been totally ok with it.
