Karys Rose Seipel, age 19, driving at night

Karys was a 2022 graduate of Springboro High School, and was currently attending Miami University where she was majoring in Psychology, with the hopes of becoming a therapist. Karys had a larger than life personality, with a great sense of humor, and was quick witted, and was the self-proclaimed backbone of the Seipel family. She was also known to be very caring, a great listener, and very good caring for children.

Karys was preceded in death by her first true love, Michael Todd Barch, with whom she would have celebrated her 2nd anniversary with on June 11, 2023.

Two people were killed and another injured following a two-vehicle crash late Saturday night in Clearcreek Twp.

The crash victims were identified Wednesday as 20-year-old Michael Todd Barch Jr. of Centerville and 19-year-old Karys Rose Seipel of Springboro by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 11:35 p.m. at the intersection of East Lytle Five Points Road and state Route 48.

Mary Huelsman, 57, of Bellbrook was headed south in a 2022 Kia Telluride on Route 48 when she struck a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu headed east on Lytle Five Points Road. The impact forced both vehicles to go off the side of the road and hit a wooden utility pole, according to the patrol.

Barch, who was driving the Malibu, and his passenger, Seipel, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Huelsman was taken to Kettering Health with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Barch was a 2021 graduate of Springboro High School. Seipel was a 2022 graduate of Springboro High School and was a Miami University student majoring in psychology, according to her obituary.
