its 2025, the new year.

i'm still alive as i type this biologically speaking. i've not yet received a fatal heart attack. this cold though causes my heart to race, which can't be good.

I've been watching Star Wars the Skeleton Crew, to episode 6

I've seen several episodes of People Magazine Investigates Inferno of Lies
Season 8 Ep. 11 fingernail DNA was important in conviction and episodes of Accident, Suicide or Murder -up to Season 5 Episode 17 - Lost Control

on new years eve i was with a small group of friends as we count down from 2024 to 2025
it was actually upper 30s last week and no snow.

was

a snow storm moved in starting yesterday, my car was coated in thin ice and my pavement as well, its extremely slippery. i actually had to crawl. my car had extreme difficulty going up the driveway, covered in ice, and my windshield was covered in ice.

it snowed my local weatherman predicted around 8-10 inches. this is snow on top of slippery frozen ice. and the next week is extreme cold so not much melting.

in the local news reporters were at grocery stores where they showed long lines and business as people were buying groceries in advance of the snow storm.

in extremely cold weather i wish i had a friendly cat but my cat died and i've not gotten a new one

i see birds outside i don't know how they can survive in this cold and snow and wind Shocked

so i'm inside my home, i have a heated blanket and turn down the heater. i got emails from my local power company

Powering through this storm

As we all keep an eye on this winter weather, crews are restoring power while support teams are in affected areas assessing storm damage. Please stay safe and up-to-date on outages in your area.

Sunday update:
With snow still falling, crews have been able to respond to outages as they occur.

Most of the outages are in areas are where the band of heavy ice moved through our service area
Today's concerns:

Galloping lines
When ice freezes on power lines and equipment, it causes the lines to twist and sway with the wind. The lines then slap into each other, which damages equipment and causes blinking lights and power outages. This is called "galloping lines."

If you see a galloping line, stay away from it. Ice can be thrown off the line or the line could break free. Both could cause injury to anyone standing nearby.

High winds
Gusts in excess of 50 mph are forecasted for today. This can cause additional outage events as wind impacts ice-covered trees, utility poles and lines.

Poor road conditions
Icy roads are slowing down our road crews, and it's taking longer to get to affected areas. If you do see utility personnel at work on the roads, please move over and slow down to give them space to work safely.
Your safety is our priority. Please stay alert to changes around your area.

i'm inside my house i didn't get out, the roads are icy my pavement are ice and covered in several inches of snow. i still have power. several years ago there was power outage.

there was a professional snow removal company truck across the street of mine removing snow from the driveway in front of a garage of my neighbor but it was getting dark. not sure if he would remove snow for me.

there was no sunlight today just very dark and cloud and blizzard snow. Neutral
