As owner, I do my best to stay out of actual discussions about a crime.

The JBR case is the one expection.

Websleuths is a leader in true crime information as well as discussion. People come here to get information. It is imperative we deal with the facts. Not fantasy.

All I ask for are facts and a logical connecting of the dots. Logic and facts.

When I get time I will be going through the forum to make sure the JonBenet Ramsey forum is being held up to the high standards just like all our other forums on Websleuths.

The days of allowing anyone to post anything because it's part of their "theory" are gone. Facts and logic. Very simple.

Tricia Griffith, who has ZERO scientific training, zero scientific understanding and never studied any forensics, not just her but all the RDI lynch mob thugs at forumsforjustice and websleuth cynic ukguy sd et al

she is claiming, falsely and igornantly, that the hi-tech boot, ransom note, expert witnesses, dna fibers cord ligature is not a scintilla of evidence of an intruder.

is there any scientific forensic merit in her  denials?

this is 11-year-old Jodi Parrack

Jodi Parrack homicide: Residents express relief, shock after arrest

CONSTANTINE, MI - Donna Williams had counted Daniel Furlong as a friend, a dependable neighbor who mowed her lawn and kept an eye on her place when she was away.

She spent time with Furlong and his wife and, more than once, found herself inside the couple's garage where Furlong, 65, would show off his vintage Chevrolet Camaro and the many trophies he had won at local auto shows.

"He was just a nice old guy," Williams, 64, said.

On Friday, Williams found herself trying to come to terms with the image she always had of Furlong and the one presented Thursday by police and prosecutors, who allege Furlong killed 11-year-old Jodi Parrack eight years ago in Constantine.

Furlong, who is being held without bond in the St. Joseph County Jail, is charged with open murder, felony murder, kidnapping and second-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with Jodi's Nov. 8, 2007 slaying. He was arrested Thursday after his DNA was matched to two samples found on Jodi's clothing, St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough said.

Furlong was never a suspect in the slaying in the years following Jodi's death, but the beginning of the end of his days in the shadows came in July.

That's when a 10-year-old girl who lived near the Furlongs' home in the Colonial Estates mobile home park in White Pigeon reported to police that he had lured her into his garage, where "he pushed her against his car, put his hand over her mouth and told her to shut up," according to court documents.

"Daniel reached in a tool drawer and pulled out a steak knife," White Pigeon Police Officer Michael Mixon wrote in an affidavit submitted Aug. 11 in St. Joseph County District Court to obtain an arrest warrant charging Furlong with unlawful imprisonment and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The affidavit said the girl was able to get away from Furlong during the July 28 incident and suffered scratches on her shoulder as she ran for help. The told investigators later that Furlong "also reached for an extension cord during their struggle."

When he was interviewed, Furlong told police he had asked the girl to come into his garage to "help him move some stuff."

"When they got inside the garage, Daniel realized the stuff had already been moved," Mixon recounted of Furlong's statement to investigators. "Daniel put his arm around (the girl)" and told her she could go. It was then, Furlong claimed, that the girl jerked away from him, started screaming and ran away.

He denied ever putting his hand over the girl's mouth or pulling a knife out of a drawer. However, Mixon noted in his affidavit that police searched Furlong's house and garage and seized several knives and cords.

"(The girl) identified one of the knives and a cord as looking like the ones used against her," Mixon wrote.

Williams said Friday she was home the day Furlong is alleged to have attacked the girl, but never heard anything that caught her attention.

In the days following the alleged attack, she said she saw White Pigeon police cars and then cruisers from the Constantine Police Department outside the Furlongs' mobile home.

A few days later, she said, the couple moved away.

"I just couldn't understand it," Williams said. "I'm like, 'I was here, how did I not hear that?' ... I was shocked. I saw him talk to kids as they went by on their bikes but I never saw anyone go in the garage.

"I'm thinking if that had not happened they never would have found the person that killed Jodi. But maybe God works in mysterious ways."

Michigan State Police Detective 1st Lt. Chuck Christensen, who formed a four-man team in 2011 to focus solely on finding Jodi's killer, said the incident in White Pigeon "caught everybody's attention" and investigators obtained a sample of Furlong's DNA to compare against DNA collected in the Parrack case.

Christensen said Friday that "the M.O. (mode of operation)" in the White Pigeon incident bared similarities to that in Jodi's slaying.

When Jodi was found dead in 2007 in the Constantine Township Cemetery, she had been strangled.

Even with Furlong's arrest and the DNA evidence in the case, Christensen said Friday that police still have a lot of work to do before the accused murderer sees the inside of a courtroom. He said detectives spoke with Furlong on Thursday following his arrest, but declined to comment further.

The team Christensen put together to investigate Jodi's murder probed the case full-time for three-and-a-half years working out of an office in downtown Constantine. The team disbanded in 2014, the same year Raymond McCann, a 47-year-old White Pigeon man and former Constantine reserve police officer, was arrested and charged with perjury for lying under oath in September 2012 during the police investigation of the homicide.

McCann later pleaded guilty to one count of perjury and was sentenced to 20 months to 20 years in prison.

"When the team disbanded, there was work still being done," Christensen said. "What happened here is what we were praying would happen -- that the person (responsible) would relax and make a mistake."

Furlong, according to Michigan State Police records, did not have a criminal record until his arrest in August for the alleged attack on the 10-year-old girl in White Pigeon and now his arrest in the Parrack case.

Christensen said police are continuing to investigate Furlong and his DNA has been submitted to the FBI Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) for comparison.

Back in White Pigeon, Williams said the announcement Thursday of charges against Furlong in Jodi's slaying left her in shock. But she said she's also relieved for Jodi's family, who has been without answers for the last eight years.

"I never would have suspected this man of the heinous crime he's accused of," she said. "It's hard to be objective because someone is innocent until proven guilty but the DNA they found on her matched his so what do you do with that?

"It's a relief," Williams added. "It's a shock because I knew him ... It's a good thing for Jodi's parents because they're going to finally have some closure. How can you argue with (the DNA)?"

In downtown Constantine, word of Furlong's arrest brought a mix of relief and sadness. No doubt, residents are happy that after eight years someone is finally in custody for Jodi's slaying, but still grieve that the girl died in the first place.

"It's wonderful, it's just a big sigh of relief," said Linda Auskalnis, an employee and former owner at Shear Style salon. "I think people have been uneasy."

Furlong is scheduled to be back in district court Sept. 29 for a preliminary examination hearing on the charges he faces in the Parrack case.

Like Jonbenet, this was 2 DNA samples found on clothing via touch DNA

like Jonbenet, this DNA was entered into CODIS. no match.

Like RDI in Jonbenet, investigators, police, DA considered the DNA to be incidental.

the situation is almost identical to Jonbenet Ramsey as Jodi Parrack

with  Raymond McCann as the prime and only suspect in her killing. investigators told each and every friend and family member of  Raymond McCann that he killed Jodi Parrack. This is identical to what happened to Jonbenet and RDI lynch mob are doing.

the DNA found on Jodi Parrack clothing could come from secondary transfer, manufacture, any boy or adult male could have touched it, or Jodi could have transferred the DNA herself.

Raymond McCann was charged with perjury and spent 20 months in prison, with the threat of a full prosecution if he refuses to agree to a plea deal.

as far as police DA's investigators Jodi's family and neighbors and people who lived there, are concerned, Jodi Parrack's murder was solved,   Raymond McCann killed her but they didn't have any evidence.

DNA found on  Jodi Parrack is not evidence.

based on DNA evidence they confronted him and he confessed and he used the same MO on Jodi that he did 8 years later on the other girl who escaped.  he asked Jodi for help, lured her into the garage, then overpowered her, did something to her, but did NOT leave behind semen, then placed her body in the cemetary.

clearly Jonbenet's killer feels he's in the clear thanks to RDI lynch mob.

Tricia Griffith and other RDI posters have never studied science, most probably dropped out of high school. they have never studied any forensics of any kind ever, yet they think it's appropriate to comment on forensic subjects they never studied.

A  veteran radio disc jockey is commenting on forensic scientific evidence she has never personally studied, nor any other poster has either, telling the public on her owner of Websleuths.com and owner of Forums for Justice.org that there is not a scintilla of evidence of an intruder, given she has never studied any forensic science.

i'm not single out only tricia, basically each and every RDI poster whether its forumsforjustice cynic to websleuth ukguy to reddit topix etc have never studied the relevant science

In 2007 they found 2 identical DNA on Jodi Parrack clothing that did not match the prime suspect Ray Mccann, and no match in CODIS

is it a scintilla of evidence that someone other than Raymond McCann murdered Jodi Parrack?

In 2007 Mary Lacy announced finding the same DNA on her panties match DNA found on her long johns. this is in addition to ransom note, fibers, hair, ligature, shoe print that did not match the R's.

tricia griffith wrote:

is there a valid scientific principle to state the DNA found on Jodi Parrack's clothing on 2007 that in 2015 matched Daniel Furlong is evidence he was involved, but the DNA found on Jonbenet is not evidence?

When you read the opinions of RDI posters like Tricia Griffith, you are reading the opinions of those who are a lynch mob, who have never, not once, ever studied the most basic scientific principles that are relevant to this case.

Since the evidence found in other SOLVED homicides, touch DNA to ligature ransom note handwriting, in Jonbenet case is comparable, even superior to other cases, then yes that evidence is scientific forensic evidence an intruder murdered Jonbenet Ramsey.

if there was any validity to RDI denialist rhetoric, then Raymond McCann should be in prison and Daniel Furloung should be a free man. perhaps that DNA was either lab error, or it was "transferred" innocently by Jodi Paccark

to say that evidence is not evidence is simply ignorance, anti-science, denialists, special pleading lynch mob.

they find 2 of the same DNA profiles on Jodi Parrack's clothing. they find 3 of the same DNA profiles on Jonbenet's clothing on 2 separate items.

the 2 of the same DNA profiles on Jodi Parrack's clothing was evidence that linked Jodi Parrack to her killer Daniel Furlong.

using the same scientific objective standard what conclusions can be made on the DNA on Jonbenet clothing + multiple fiber unsourced hair ligature ransom note hi-tech boot prints
