I've written about familial genetic genealogy in solving crimes. the DNA in the Golden state killer never matched CODIS. using familial genetic genealogy they found relatives of the DNA, and then narrowed down to the suspect, Joseph Deangelo.

similar DNA testing can be done, the 2018 DNA was looking for y-str DNA which only males have and can also be used to identify male relatives of the DNA found on Jonbenet.

RDI are still in the 18th century while IDI embrace 21th century DNA science.

there's actually another DNA 21th century technology,

facial DNA phenotyping

it's possible using DNA facial phenotyping for hair and eye color facial morphology in predicting what the DNA donor may have looked like.

an example is the 1992 cold case killing of Christy Mirack during a news conference on June 25, 2018.

they found DNA and entered it into CODIS

DNA evidence believed to be from the killer of Christy Mirack languished in the FBI's national database for many years without finding a match.

no CODIS hits for this DNA like JBR

How?

How could a tiny genealogy website find a potential match when the FBI national database could not?

First off, Rowe's DNA was never added to the FBI national database, which collects information on more than 16 million people suspected of or convicted of crimes. He had not previously been convicted of a crime.

Because of his arrest in the Mirack case, however, his DNA will soon be added to the national database, where it will be compared to DNA samples from unsolved crime scenes across the country.

they used this DNA to generate an image

this is what the actual suspect looked like via forensic geneology

These were the composites developed of the killer, at different possible ages, based on DNA left at the murder scene.

it should be possible in princple to create a facial likeness of JBR's suspect intruder killer using facial DNA phenotyping

features like eye color and hair color.

if my Mr Cruel theory is correct, the DNA facial features should match his

but one DNA suggests the features are of Hispanic, which would rule it out.

if a native spanish or Portuguese speaker with english as a second language wrote the ransom note, it's not surprising he mis spells possession and business

SBTC could be 4 spanish or Portuguese words Like a Star @ heaven Like a Star @ heaven Like a Star @ heaven
