I just learned of

On August 3, 2022, President Joe Biden signed The Homicide Victims’ Families’ Rights Act into law,

The law is intended to help ensure that federal law enforcement reviews cold case files and applies the latest technologies and investigative standards. The logistics aren't clear in the bill; however, it states that a request can be made for a cold case review by federal agencies

H.R.3359 - Homicide Victims' Families' Rights Act of 2021

Public Law No: 117-164 (08/03/2022)

Homicide Victims' Families' Rights Act of 2021

This bill establishes a framework for immediate family members of a victim of murder under federal law to request a review of the victim's case file if the murder was committed more than three years prior, the murder was investigated by a federal law enforcement entity, all probative investigative leads have been exhausted, and no likely perpetrator has been identified.

Jeffrey R. MacDonald family murders occurred over February 16–17, 1970

long before modern DNA technology.

Jeffrey R. MacDonald meets the

*** immediate family members of a victim of murder under federal law to request a review of the victim's case file if the murder was committed more than three years prior

MacDonald lawyers requested all evidence be DNA tested, and this crime happened more than 3 years prior

*** the murder was investigated by a federal law enforcement entity

Jeffrey R. MacDonald meets this criteria. His crime was committed on a federal property specifically the Army

**** all probative investigative leads have been exhausted, and no likely perpetrator has been identified.

um, well Jeffrey R. MacDonald was convicted. However they did find unknown DNA in the initial limited DNA testing. He was convicted based on 1970s era forensics not modern 2023 era DNA testing and science.

Without DNA testing of all the crime scene evidence including touch DNA and DNA testing of all blood evidence and murder weapons, I cannot say he's 100% guilty.

obviously I base my conclusions on DNA testing, which since this crime was committed in 1970, there was none.

The initial crime scene analysis was done on ABO blood grouping, not DNA. It is possible the intruders shed blood, and if they did, it would test as blood group A, B, AB, or O, and would be misidentified as one of the MacDonald blood leading to an incorrect conclusion.

Also, unknown DNA profile may be mixed in the blood of the victims

Jeffrey MacDonald could be telling the truth. The Petit family murder also involved 2 intruders and a medical doctor and only the father who is a doctor survived.

The forensics used to convict MacDonald, such as stab wounds through pajama tops, and a table knocked over, is not as robust scientifically as DNA evidence.

As for why 4 intruders would completely massacre 3 girls and leave MacDonald with only 1 puncture wound, well maybe they don't like females or were high on drugs, or wanted MacDonald to be the fall guy.

The one piece of DNA evidence that was lost was a fairly large piece of skin under Collete's fingernail.

It is likely Collette fought her attacker, scratched her attacker, and peeled off skin of her attacker under her fingernail, which is now lost. DNA testing could tell us if it is Jeffrey MacDonald skin, consistent with his guilt, or an unknown party.

A lot of anti-MacDonalds say that no hippy would say "Acid is groovy kill the pigs!" but then Charles Manson is a hippy and had his hippy followers write "Helter Skelter" and "Death to Pigs" How can you say what a hippy high on drugs would or would not say.

I'm not saying Jeffrey R. MacDonald is innocent, he could have like Chris Watts murdered his family, or like Petit Cheshire family murder, be a victim of intruders. He was convicted with 1970s era forensics, and we now have DNA to tell us what really happened.

Is there unknown foreign DNA, ideally 4 perps, consistent with Jeffrey MacDonald story of 4 intruders. or only MacDonald DNA. only DNA testing on all crime scene evidence can tell us
