body pulled from a vehicle submerged in the Missouri River was identified as missing 20-year-old Toni Anderson, Kansas City police said Wednesday.
Anderson was last seen leaving a QuikTrip in North Kansas City early January 15 while driving a black 2014 Ford Focus, according to Kansas City police.
Her boyfriend, Pete Sanchez, told CNN that Anderson was driving home from work at a local club and was pulled over by police.
Anderson's disappearance sparked weeks of searching until last week, when that vehicle was pulled from the Missouri River in Parkville, Missouri. The body inside was identified as that of Anderson.

Police said there is no indication of foul play.
Anderson's parents told CNN affiliate KCTV that they believe she became turned around after being pulled over by police, and ended up in Parkville. She then drove onto an icy boat launch, and her car slid into the river, the parents said.
The window was down and her seat belt was off, KCTV reports

Mrs Anderson said she believes that her daughter was upset after getting pulled over and became confused and lost in the early morning hours before ending up at the boat ramp in the park.

“She got freaked out,” she said on Monday.

“She got lost and she got confused, or whatever. It was still dark. She was on the boat ramp and tried to back out. The ramp was icy and she slid into the river.”

Mrs Anderson revealed the window of the car was open and her daughter’s seatbelt unbuckled when the vehicle was recovered.

“She was fully clothed,” she said. “It must have happened so quick. It was so cold. She must have instantly gone into shock. I can see how it could happen.”

As for the bruised knee found on her daughter’s body, Mrs Anderson believes it was sustained by knocking off a GPS device mounted below the dashboard as the car impacted the water.

Authorities say Tricia Martin was ejected from her vehicle and thrown onto the roadway.

Taryn Martin, who was standing outside of the vehicle in the roadway, was struck by one of the vehicles and thrown onto the south side of the roadway and into the grass.

The GMC came to a controlled stop after the collision.

Tricia Martin was flown to Christiana Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Taryn Martin was initially transported to Kent General Hospital before being transferred to A. I. DuPont Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Richard Triola was taken to Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Milford School District is offering grief counselors Monday for students and staff.

I do wonder if i will one day be killed in a car collision. i'm not sure there's a whole lot i can do. if it happens what can i do? i admit the idea of staying inside my home as much as possible is an appealing one.

The medical mystery was solved at the autopsy. It turns out she had suffered an intra-abdominal hemorrhage. A weakened vein in her abdomen tore apart, a malady that was undetectable.

"She never has any signs or symptoms," the widower said. "She felt great. She never had problems with abdominal pain. There is nothing that I can tell you, why this happened. I wish I could."

i think i'll pass on marathons. i might have some undetectable vein pop or cardiac arrest or something.

Janofsky was first diagnosed with melanoma in May 2015 after a suspicious mole was removed from her left shoulder, but was given “a good prognosis,” her husband said. She kept going to a dermatologist for skin checkups every three months.

The N.C. Highway Patrol says an intoxicated woman driving in the wrong lane on US 25-70 crashed into a car the girls were in Wednesday night. The driver has been identified as 32-year-old Sarah Shelton of Alexander. Shelton is charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated), felony death by vehicle and reckless driving.

Lillith DeCarlo, an eighth-grader,  was killed in the crash, he said. Her step-sister, a 7th grade student, is in the hospital with several broken bones and damage to her eyes that left her blinded in one eye. Honeycutt identified her as Kara Raby.

“Lillith will be remembered for her big smile and friendly demeanor to everyone. She was a member of the Jr. Beta Club, Student Council and the MMS Band. She played the trombone and the band gave her a great sense of identity,” Honeycutt stated in an email.

The inquest heard that the only chance to save her could have been a potentially risky emergency operation to remove the dead cells and administer antibiotics directly to the site of the infection, at an earlier point.

Coroner Karen Dilks said: “There was no missed opportunity to diagnose and treat Alice that would have affected the tragic outcome in this case, and given that is the evidence, it seems to me that the appropriate conclusion is the short form conclusion of natural causes.”

Whilst the specific form of sepsis from which Alice suffered was extremely rare, the potentially fatal complication can be triggered by infections in other parts of the body.

Mum Anne said: “It’s a positive that doctors have taken notice and are trying to change things for the better, but people need to be aware of sepsis: it’s fast-acting and can be as lethal as meningitis.”

Erin Duncan, age 22, of Elkins was killed in an ATV wreck in Cullman County, Alabama on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 according to the coroner.

Lawrence Rickey, age 34, of Smith's Grove, Kentucky was also killed. A woman named Jennifer Benson was brought to the hospital and was in critical condition Monday afternoon.

Two Polaris brand Razor ATVs were racing down a trail near an OHV park when one lost control and went into the crowd, the coroner said. Rickey was pronounced dead at the scene, while Duncan was brought to the hospital in Jasper, Ala., and pronounced dead there.

Amber Skutt, 25, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 when she crashed her vehicle into a tree, killing her instantly on impact.

A 25-year-old woman died early Saturday morning after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a tree in Crawford County.

Michigan State Police said Amber Skutt of Roscommon was the lone occupant in the one-vehicle crash. She was pronounced dead on scene.

An intoxicated off-duty detective was involved in a car accident in Queens that left one person critically injured early Sunday, police sources said.

Karissa Jones 21, died April 22, 2017

A 21-year-old woman, who had just moved to Tulare from Omaha, Neb., within the past month, drowned when she slipped on a rock and tumbled into the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River in the Hospital Rock area of Sequoia National Park. Karissa Jones was reportedly walking alongside the river with her boyfriend and two other companions when she fell into the turbulent water.

Her companions were unable to reach her and called 911. The search-and-rescue response was massive, with about a dozen emergency vehicles with sirens blaring racing through Three Rivers in the mid-afternoon of Saturday, April 22.

In the meantime, the victim was being swept downstream in icy-cold, rushing water interrupted only by rocks and boulders. A man in the area just upriver from Potwisha Campground spotted the woman and was able to get her to shore.

Wesley Mungin of Hanford administered CPR as did the first responders when they arrived on the scene. The victim, who had just turned 21 in March, could not be revived.

Karissa Jones home due to the expenses.

Jones moved to Tulare, California, last month to be with her boyfriend. She just celebrated her 21st birthday there.

U.S. National Parks said Jones and three friends were alongside the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River, 6 miles inside the Sequoia park entrance. Jones fell into the river and was swept away. Emergency rescues crews searched for Jones. Farther downstream, another visitor saw Jones in the river and managed to get her to shore and administer CPR.

“Although the rivers of the parks are beautiful and picturesque, they are still an extremely dangerous place to recreate. Due to the record level snowpack, the rivers with their fast cold water continue to rise, “Chris Waldscmidt, U.S. Park Ranger said.

My cousin Misty (Buckley) Mendicino has suffered the loss of her only daughter Karissa K. Jones last night in a tragic accident. Karissa just turned 21 last month and moved to California to spread her wings as many young adults do. She was hiking and slipped on a rock into the river and drowned. They tried very hard to revive her, but the Good Lord had a different plan for my little cousin Karissa.

so just one slip into the river, got swepted away and drowned. just after 21 birthday. her life just went poof. she joins redpill's forever21 club.

i now know that you can slip into a fast moving river while hiking and if u do u get swept away and drown. just like that. i'll now have a healthy respect for a fast moving river. doesn't say what time of day this happened.
