I just recently watched East Area Rapist, from On the Case with Paula Zahn their most recent episode

his crimes sort of reminds me of Mr. Cruel, in that it is home invasion, home intruder, and sexually motivated. All known victims were adults.

this documentary and crime is worth knowing for anyone interested in the Jonbenet Ramsey

first this is a real offender who is a home intruder who raped and entered the homes of some 50 plus women plus 12 murders

The Original Night Stalker is a media epithet for an unidentified serial killer and rapist who committed 50 rapes in Northern California during the mid-1970s and murdered twelve people in Southern California from 1979 through 1986.[2] Other monikers include the East Area Rapist, the Diamond Knot Killer, and since 2013, he has also been referred to as the Golden State Killer.[3]

The crimes initially centered on the then unincorporated areas of Carmichael, Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova, all east of Sacramento, where at least fifty women were sexually assaulted between June 18, 1976 and July 5, 1979.[2] In 2001, several of the Northern California rapes were linked by DNA to murders in Southern California. All of the DNA-linked assaults occurred in Contra Costa County but the distinctive modus operandi (MO) of the rapist makes it very likely the same man was also responsible for the attacks in the Sacramento area. His last crime and the only one after 1981 took place in 1986.

The Original Night Stalker has never been apprehended. Several suspects have been cleared through DNA alibi, or other investigative means and methods.[4][5] On June 15, 2016, the FBI and local law enforcement agencies held a news conference to announce a nationwide effort and a US$50,000 reward for his capture. They plan to erect electronic billboards nationwide and other forms of exposure for the push.[6]

there was no DNA linking from 1976 to 1986

they were linked by case linkage analysis, and even then there was considerable doubt.

there was much doubt the murders in Southern California are linked to Northern California

second is forensic evidence

in crime scenes they found unidentified shoe prints in the mud outside the home. is this evidence?

they believe it is. it is EARS shoe print.

well, in Jonbenet of course there's the hi-tech shoe print found near Jonbenet

when you hear an intruder wouldn't leave a ransom note or body behind

EARS murdered victims, then wrote letters and even called to police to announce he intends to murder then does.

since EARS like Mr Cruel is a home invading home intruder his MO provides insights into the crime.

one thing that was commented on was that he planned his crimes weeks in advance, and would break in weeks before the murder. they know this bc of burglaries of a home were reported first, then later returns to rape

he rapes white women. he is believed to be a white male. in some cases, 12, at least, he murders.

never been identified, never been caught.

like Mr Cruel another home invader he brings his own ligature and tape to the crime scene.

in Jonbenet the ligature and tape is unsourced.

like Mr. Cruel he always wore gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints

Since Mr Cruel and EARS are both home intruders, home invaders, their MO and presumably the MO of Jonbenet killer is similar or same.

Jonbenet killer may have cased the home weeks or even months in advance, like EARS did.

EARS dna from semen is entered in codis. at one point they took the DNA sample of every violent felon in every prison in California, but no match.

this DNA presumably does not match Jonbenet clothing, otherwise we would hear EARS murdered Jonbenet

but when you hear an RDI say an intruder wouldn't leave a body with ransom note behind, or has no reason to write a ransom note or why didn't intruder remove Jonbenet's body behind

if you know Mr Cruel and EARS, you would know these objections have no basis.

in over 50 rapes and 12 murders, EARS NEVER removes the body from the residence so far as is known.

Mr Cruel did both leave victim in home and remove victim from residence


as for ransom note this is believed to be handwritten from EARS

EARS is interesting on its own.

certainly worth considering if you're concern about crime and personal safety

i make sure my windows and doors are locked from inside before i go to bed.

With Rapists out there doors and windows need to be locked and have an aggressive guard dog who will go for the juggler of any intruder that comes on the premises. The JonBenet Ramsey might have ended differently if their dog had been on the premises that night. Even to sound an alarm. I remember the night stalker very well. Lots of terror he brought during his active years of wreaking his evil.

yeah dogs are kinda high maintenance do u own a dog?

No I don't. I know they are good protection, but they are high maintenance and they dig up the lawn. The next best thing is something that emits a dog bark sound that is based on motion and the bark changes the closer the person gets.

true. currently i keep doors and windows locked, and double check this before i go to bed at night. that's all i can do.

for the most part i only let trusted friends neighbors and repair inside.

All good points for keeping safe. I agree we should be careful who we let in the house; you don't know what they might be staking out the place. I don't let strangers or casual acquaintances know what I have or details about the layout of my home.
