There are three reasons why it is important for us to speak honestly and openly about the delusion of religion:

   Religion truly is a delusion. By allowing this delusional behavior to persist unchallenged, we do ourselves damage.

   We currently have significant free-speech and free-thinking issues around religion.

   It is time for us, as an intelligent species, to understand the reasons why human beings invent religions, and to begin addressing those reasons rationally rather than delusionally.

Each of these points is important. Let's look at them one by one so that we can understand what they mean.

Kennecke told the audience in May, “On May 16,  2018 my 21-year-old daughter Emily died of an overdose. Her official cause of death was fentanyl poisoning. " Kennecke said that her daughter had become attracted to drug culture but the news anchor didn’t know about her daughter’s involvement with opioids. Emily had been scheduled to go into rehab on May 20. Kennecke said, “We didn’t get that chance. We didn’t get a chance get her into real treatment.”

Emily Groth was a talented artist who tragically died at the age of 21 of fentanyl poisoning. Emily was born and raised in Sioux Falls and was a 2015 graduate of O'Gorman High School. She was a gifted student and participated in cheerleading, gymnastics and track.
