   No intruder would have had anything to gain by writing the ransom note. No intruder would have any reason to write it. A kidnapper would have taken the child (or her body) with him. If something had gone wrong with his plan, he would have had no reason to leave a possibly incriminating note. Someone intending to frame John or Patsy would not have written the note in his own hand, as that would be evidence of an intruder. The conclusion is simple: there was no kidnapper. There was no intruder. The note must have been written by someone on the inside -- and it does indeed read like a staged kidnapping attempt.

Two teenage girls are facing murder charges after a video showing the brutal beating of a Canadian high school student was posted on Facebook.

Serena McKay, 19, was found dead on the Sagkeeng First Nation reserve, northeast of Winnipeg, on April 23 just hours after she was reported missing by her family.

Footage of McKay being beaten to death has been circulating on Facebook and was shared on a private instant messaging app.

The sickening video, which was on Facebook for at least four hours before it was removed, showed McKay lying bloodied and barely conscious on the ground while she was repeatedly stomped on and punched in the head.

McKay could be heard sobbing 'I'm so sorry' as she was being attacked.  

Both female and male voices can be heard in the background of the video and at least two girls can be seen attacking McKay.

Police are investigating allegations McKay's death was streamed on Facebook Live. They are reviewing the footage as part of their investigation but are yet to confirm that she is the woman in the video.

Police say two girls, 16 and 17 years old, have been arrested on charges of second-degree murder. Given their ages, police are not identifying them.

The two girls both attended Sagkeeng Anicinabe High School with the 19-year-old victim who was due to graduate soon, according to CBC.

Oliver Mauricio Funez Machado, 18, is currently being held in "safekeeping" as he undergoes a mental health evaluation at Central Prison while his case moves through the courts.

Machado is being held without bond on a first-degree murder charge after deputies say he killed his mother with a knife at their home on Morgan Drive near Stonehill Drive just south of U.S. Highway 64 Monday afternoon. The area is east of Zebulon - near the Wake County line.

A search warrant revealed Machado told the 911 operator he stabbed 35-year-old Yesenia Funez Beatriz Machado "like 8 times."
