A two-year-old girl who was hit in a Brant County driveway on Christmas Day has died of her injuries.

Foster Dawn Butler died on New Year's Day, say Brant County OPP. She was struck by a vehicle in a driveway on Highway 53, just west of Brantford, around noon.

A 28-year-old man was driving, police say. Butler, who was two and a half, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Alexandra Ross, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, died following the horror crash on Thursday afternoon.

Ms Ross was driving a red Ford KA when it crashed into a bus on the A537, near Henbury, in Manchester around 1.39pm.

She was pronounced dead at the scene while five passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries, reports Manchester Evening News.

Alexandra's loved ones said they were "heartbroken" by her loss.

Brigid Maire Curtin, of West Hartford, CT, passed away suddenly on Dec. 17, 2018. Brigid was born in Hartford, CT, on Jan. 8, 2006

Her mother, Janemarie Murphy, was severely wounded in the attack, but is expected to survive. Police said they responded to a call at 187 Stoner Dr. in which a woman said she “and her daughter had been stabbed by her son.” A motive for the attack remains unknown.

"Because she was already sick when she was born, she didn't really have much of a life," Ms Crews said.

"She couldn't really do much — we couldn't really take her anywhere in case she got a virus or anything like that.

Ms Hellowell still had some big challenges.

Immunosuppressant drugs to keep her body from rejecting her donated liver meant even a simple cold could put her in the hospital for weeks and that, in turn, made it difficult to hold down a job.

Still, she made the most of life and when her replacement liver eventually started failing, Ms Hellowell was living away from home for the first time with her step-sister in Dubbo, New South Wales.When it was discovered she would need another transplant, Ms Hellowell was moved to the top of the transplant list.

Over the following year she was called in for the operation twice.

However, the first time the new liver was not compatible, and the second time, in November, the donor was found to have cancer, making the liver unusable.

During that time, Ms Hellowell was steadily getting sicker.

"She was very scared," Ms Crews said.

   "She knew she was sick and she was hoping this call-up would have been the one.

"She had no appetite, she was very jaundiced, very weak."

Even then, Ms Hellowell might have made it to a third call-up had she not contracted pneumonia.

Between her failing liver and her already-ravaged immune system, Ms Hellowell deteriorated fast, despite the best efforts of medical staff, before finally succumbing on December 13.

"It happened so quickly," Ms Crews said.

"We were sitting around the hospital room joking and laughing and two-and-a-half weeks later we had to say goodbye."

A 17-year-old girl from Shiocton died after her car lost control on an icy road and crashed into a tree, the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office says.

The Outagamie County Coronor's Office identified her as Haley Apple. She died at the scene of that crash from multiple blunt force injuries.
Deputies responded to the crash around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Thede Road south of Newland Road in the Town of Bovina.

The Sheriff's Office says in a news release that the car was heading southbound on Thede Road when it lost control due to ice-covered road conditions. The car went into a ditch and hit a tree.

The driver, later identified as Haley, was alone in the car and died at the scene. She was a junior in the Shiocton School District.

The crash is being investigated by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department.

NSP investigators say a northbound vehicle driven by Mazanec’s mother, Christine Mazanec, 30, attempted to turn left onto Brown Road and struck the side of a northbound semi that had attempted to pass the vehicle. Officials say the collision caused the car to roll and Alyssa was thrown from the vehicle.

The driver of the semi was Wendell Sanders, 62, of Box Elder, authorities said.

Alyssa Maureen Mazanec, 6 year old daughter of Lee and Christine Mazanec, passed away January 14, 2019.
