• Peyton Hood was born on September 1, 2008 in Texas, US. Peyton and her other sibling were both playing at their local playground when Peyton started to cry. Her mother ran over to her child that was standing on the steps of the slide. She says almost instantly her baby girl went limp, turned blue and started to vomit. One of her ankles was also bleeding. Moments later, her mother saw a small rattlesnake. It had already bit the her child twice. The snake was killed and the child was air lifted to Cooks Children's Hospital in Fort Worth. She received anti-venom but later succumbed to her injuries.

A witness told authorities that she heard O’shea screaming “Help me!” and saw a neighbor’s dogs attacking her.

The dog pack tossed her into the air, then dragged her body toward a wooded area, authorities said.

Knox County sheriff’s deputies said they arrived to find O’shea unconscious and covered in bite wounds.

Deputies shot one of the dogs and the other four were brought to a local animal shelter. They were described as a mastiff, a Rottweiler-Lab mix, two mastiff-Lab mixes and a pit bull.

Cora Jane Wagner was born to Daniel and Donna Wagner on August 14, 2000 in Fargo, ND.

"Cora had told them that she's the happiest she's been in her life. She's just so happy, everything was so perfect. Storybook kinda life," Wagner said.

After Sunday church and breakfast, Wagner said Cora and her friends went to get some dirt biking in that afternoon.

But the bliss didn't last long—Wagner remembering the look on everyone's face as they rushed him to the scene.

"'God, please let this be okay. Please let this be okay. This cannot be real. This just cannot be real,'" Wagner remembers thinking.

Wagner says with little to no cell service, some broke off to climb a butte to call 911 and another started CPR.

Meanwhile, he says the rest gathered around Cora and started to pray.

"Everyone was cheering for her like it was a volleyball game. 'Come on, Cora. Come on, Cora! You can do it. Stick with us!'" Wagner said.

Emergency crews told callers they wouldn't be able to get a helicopter to the remote ranch for almost an hour.

"46 minutes. I felt like my whole being just escaped through my feet. The emptiness was so real," Wagner said.

Officials pronounced Cora dead at the scene, but soon after and without any rain, a full double rainbow emerged at the foot of Cora's body.

Five Lakeland teenagers were riding in a Ford truck eastbound on Interstate 4 at about 7 p.m., according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Charlie celebrated her 9th birthday yesterday. It has been years since I have seen Charlie, but I met her at the hospital when she was one day old. I can’t believe that was nine years ago already. I held her when she was a baby. I played with her when she was a toddler..... I remember when she was around 3 and she pushed a chair to the cabinet, grabbed a cup and poured a glass of milk by her self and Tiffany looked at me with tears in her eyes because “her baby wasn’t a baby anymore.” Little did Tiffany know, that was just the first sign that Charlie was an independent, headstrong kid! As life got in the way, I watched Charlie grow into a beautiful little girl through Facebook. It’s obvious she lived in a home full of love just from all the proud pictures her family would post. I worked with Charlie’s dad, John, and he would tell me about how much they prepared for her birthdays and Christmas. He would take pictures of all her gifts and proudly show them off to me. Lol Charlie spent her last day on earth celebrating her 9th birthday. I know it was a day filled with love.

A teenager has been charged with the murder of a young woman who was found dead in a stream after attending a concert.

Wesley Streete, 19, was arrested after Keeley Bunker, 20, was discovered in the water in Wigginton Park, Tamworth.

Staffordshire Police has charged the suspect, from Tamworth, with murder and he'll now appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow.

Keeley saw rapper Aitch perform at the O2 in Birmingham on Wednesday night.

Wilburn sustained a gunshot wound inside 102 Aster Court at about 3 p.m. Saturday. She was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township where she was pronounced dead, state police said.

State police said a juvenile was taken into custody and is housed at the Northampton County Juvenile Justice Center in Easton.

Kiya died Thursday night an SUV driven by her mother and full of family members was involved in an accident.

Winn said they headed to Kiya’s aunt’s house to make costumes for Halloween. Kiya was going to be a spider.

Kiya’s mother, Kayla Johnson, was driving a 2001 Lincoln Navigator southbound on South West Street and tried to turn left in front of a northbound 2018 Jeep being driven by a 28-year-old man.

Wichita Police Department officer Paul Cruz said the man would have had the right-of-way.

The impact hit the rear side of the SUV near where Kiya sat, Winn said.

The SUV overturned and collided with a 2012 Dodge Challenger driven by a 39-year-old man stopped at a red light on Taft. Kiya was ejected from the SUV. The driver of the Challenger and all six of the occupants in the SUV were taken to the hospital, where Kiya was pronounced dead.

“I wouldn’t trade the eight years I had with that precious baby for anything,” Winn said, crying.

On May 28, 2017, Emery and her parents were having a picnic at their house. Emery was having a swim in the pool, while her parents were cooking food on the BBQ. When they looked back up to check on Emery she was found in the deep end, face down, not moving. Family members performed CPR while they waited for the paramedics to arrive. She was airlifted to hospital where she was placed on life support, she fought for 2 days before passing away peacefully on May 30, 2017.

Brittney disappeared on July 11 while riding to her boyfriend's house. Her family friend was sentenced to 30 to life in prison for her death. Brittney was a bright 16 year old who was planned to be a forensic scientist.

The crash happened about 7:30 Saturday night. Sherrer says Jailei was playing in the yard with her cousins when a ball got away from them. Jailei ran out onto Highway 5 to get it. Police say a black Chevy truck hit her, then left the scene.

Jailei was transported to Mercy Hospital, but later died.

But authorities allege Walters killed Lorenzen in December 2018, dumping her body in a nearby river. Her body was not found until July of this year.

In late December, Walters allegedly called the police to report Lorenzen missing.

“Her body had stopped producing insulin and her muscles had started to break down.”

A couple of days later, Jade was transferred to Manchester Children’s Hospital. She was not responding well to insulin, so doctors there chose to place her in a medically induced coma. On May 27, the teen awoke — and seemingly was acting like her old self, asking her mother for food.

But two weeks later, Jade’s condition again deteriorated. On the morning of June 11, Louise said she received a call from Jade’s grandmother who told her to get to the hospital as fast as she could.

“All she said is that something bad is happening,” she recalled.

Upon arrival, Louise said her family was brought to a room where a doctor said Jade was coughing up blood and physicians were trying their best to stabilize her.

“They were working to save her. I didn’t know what to think. I was a mess,” she said. But just 20 minutes later, “They came in and told us she had died. It was so sudden and unexpected.”

It was later discovered that Jade was suffering from a rare but serious fungal infection called mucormycosis. Mucormycetes, a group of molds often found in soil, compost piles and animal feces, cause mucormycosis infections. Though these molds are present in the environment, those whose immune systems are compromised are more at risk for contracting an infection.

“It most commonly affects the sinuses or the lungs after inhaling fungal spores from the air, or the skin after the fungus enters the skin through a cut, burn, or other type of skin injury,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states.

The infection reportedly “ate away” at Jade’s throat, lungs, and airways, and caused tissues in her body to go through necrosis, what's defined as the irreversible “death of body tissue."

“The infection is opportunistic. Jade caught it because her immune system was weaker with diabetes,” her mother told SWNS. “We had no idea she even had diabetes. No one else in the family has it so we had no idea what to look out for."

Though it’s not clear how Jade came into contact with the mold spores, it’s possible she breathed them in while at the horse stables, according to SWNS.

Lousie, a mother of two, said the image of Jade as she was dying will never leave her mind.

“It’s something I’ll never forget, walking into the room and seeing my daughter covered in blood. It was like a murder scene. The blood vessels in her throat had burst and she bled to death,” she recalled.

“She choked on her own blood and had coughed it up. It was horrific to see and that will never leave me.”

“I miss her every single day, our lives will never be the same without her,” Louise continued. “To go what we have gone through is horrific. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what we have.”

The King County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday it has taken a 55-year-old man suspected in the death of Sarah Yarborough into custody.

Yarborough was last seen Dec. 14, 1991, after leaving home for a dance competition at Federal Way High School.

Her body was found on campus later that morning. She’d been strangled in broad daylight.

Witnesses saw Yarborough pull into the school parking lot at 8:10 a.m. She and her drill team were supposed to board a bus at 9 a.m.

Two boys walking across campus spotted a man stepping out of the bushes and then discovered Yarborough’s body. They ran home and told their parents.

The case went cold, but in 2018 detectives turned to new DNA technology for help.

Parabon NanoLabs, a private lab in Virginia, created images of what the suspect may have looked like at ages 18 and 25 based on his genetic markers.

A familial DNA match recently led investigators to the suspect, according to KIRO-TV.
