A 19-year-old from Anchorage, Alaska, was allegedly killed by her best friend and several other teen accomplices after they were promised millions of dollars for video evidence of the killing by a man who had catfished them.

According to court documents, Denali Brehmer, 18, confessed to killing Cynthia Hoffman on June 2 at the direction of a man she had met online several months prior named Darin Schilmiller.

Prosecutors say Schilmiller, 21, who's from New Salisbury, Indiana, told Brehmer his name was "Tyler," that he lived in Kansas, and that he was a millionaire. The two then developed an online relationship.

Alaskan officials described recovering cellphone records that showed the two "discussing a plan to rape and murder someone in Alaska" and an offer of "nine or more million dollars to carry out the murder and to have photographs and/or videos of the murder sent to [Schilmiller]."

Brehmer then allegedly recruited the help of four of her friends, including 19-year-old Caleb Leyland and 16-year-old Kayden McIntosh. The other juvenile accomplices are not named in the court records.

They stopped at a clearing and Hoffman's hands and feet were bound with duct tape, and duct tape was wrapped around her head and mouth, according to court documents.
McIntosh shot Hoffman one time in the back of the head with Brehmer's gun, court documents said, and she was then put in the Eklutna River.

A state grand jury indicted all six defendants Friday for first-degree murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and two counts of second-degree murder and other charges. McIntosh is being charged as an adult.
Brehmer, McIntosh, and Leyland are in the custody of the Department of Corrections and will be arraigned Tuesday, according to the Alaska Department of Law.

Denali Brehmer, 18, now faces four federal child pornography charges in addition to state murder charges in the slaying of Cynthia Hoffman.

Darin Schilmiller, the 21-year-old Indiana man who prosecutors say offered Brehmer $9 million to “rape and murder someone in Alaska," was also included in the indictment announced Tuesday.

He’d already been arrested on federal child pornography offenses last week. The new indictment includes five federal charges against Schilmiller, including conspiracy to produce child pornography, production of child pornography, receipt and distribution of child pornography and coercion and enticement of a minor.

one theory i've considered is that The Unsolved Murder of JonBenet Ramsey

was the result of an internet arrangement, someone who lives in Colorado and a pedo ring wanted to share photos of a nude Jonbenet, which they did.

the pedos could be from anywhere in the world, australia asia south america europe africa

though the actual killer probably lives close to JBR in Boulder, though travel say by Mr Cruel is also possible.

maybe the intruders wanted to make a snuff film involving killing females, of course this is predicated on the missing piece of skin has DNA matching a known felon who admits he killed the family, not Dr. MacDonald
