Becky graduated from Ludington High School in 1991. Becky excelled in school and received several academic honors. She received Associate Degrees from West Shore Community College and Mid-Michigan College where she became a certified Radiology Technician. Becky also attended George Mason University in Virginia to study geology. Becky supplemented her income by working at McDonald’s in Ludington, where her smiling face and warm personality was welcomed by the early morning customers. Becky spent several months living in Butzbach, Germany and travelled to France, Belgium and Luxemburg. Becky was a kind-hearted person who never failed to tell her family how much she loved them. She loved her family, cats, and had a deep love for her Lord and Savior.

She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School and Bloomsburg University, where she was a Phi Sigma Sigma and earned degrees in Political Science and Women's Studies.

After college, Billie Jo attended Widener School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she graduated third in her class and participated in law review as an editor.

Billie Jo was full of life. She always lit up a room and was a natural-born leader. She was genuinely sweet, kind, funny, loving, forgiving, incredibly intelligent, and so many more great things. People loved Billie Jo.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, working hard, laughing, making people feel good, Christmas and trying to dress up her cats.

Billie Jo was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Teresa and William Schober, paternal grandparents, Josephine Glowacki and Alex Matelevich, her maternal aunt Margaret Schober, and her paternal aunt, Margie Lutz.

Billie Jo is survived by her loving husband, James Matelevich-Hoang, her mother, father, sisters Amber and Alexis Matelevich, her mother in-law Kimberly Hoang, sister in-law Jennifer Crasta, nephews Sean Lewis and Martin Wrobel and nieces Kyra and Kalyani Crasta.

Candy would then travel to live in several cities throughout Southeast, TX after she became a dedicated wife and mother to her two beautiful children.
Candy devoted her life to her family. Her personality was a beacon of light to those around her. Her passion to teach others and being a part of growing those around her led her to become a teacher.
As Candy worked hard towards her degree, she did her best to stay involved with the community and her kid’s sporting events. When she wasn’t studying or in the classroom learning, she was a substitute teacher, volunteer coach for her children’s teams, a bus driver for the local school district, and anything else she could do to keep active and spend time with the loves of her life, her family.
Growing up Candy loved playing sports, softball being her favorite. Through her hard work ethic and passion for the game, she was able to continue her softball career as a college athlete for Ranger Junior College.

Leiza enjoyed playing golf, and cheering on the Cubs with Tyler, she was a huge fan of Peyton Manning and on Sunday afternoons enjoyed watching football and cooking, especially turkeys and wineries. She liked kayaking and camping, bonfires and was a lover of the ocean and the Black Hills. Leiza had an adventurous spirit with a kind soul. She loved planting a garden and flowers, just not weeding. She loved her family and friends, and animals always seemed to gravitate towards her. She made everyone around her comfortable and happy. She attended Celebrate Church and loved Jesus.

Grateful for having shared her life are her father, Michael, her brother, David (Ginger) and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her mother, Teddy.

She graduated from West High School in 1992. Some of Liz’s fondest memories were spent with her high school friends. These relationships are something she relished up until her passing.

Liz had two children, Connor Ulerich and Casey Church. They were the light of her life and her legacy will continue on through them. She was engaged to Buddy Tope. He was the love of her life and they lived together for the last 9 years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Liberty - I'm writing my obituary in advance so my family will not have to do it upon my death. Also, I wanted my obituary to be a little different than the norm.

Most likely I have passed away due to some complication of ALS (commonly referred to as Lou Gerhig's Disease). I was diagnosed with ALS on September 23, 2011 at the age of 38. Let me just say… ALS Sucks!

Here is a small glimpse of my life:

I'm Jami Smith. I'm also known as Jami Soper or Jami McCashland. I was born on July 24, 1973 to Jim Soper and Betty Handley Soper (deceased), I'm sure I was joyfully welcomed home by my sister Nikki Liming (Jeff) and brother Steven (Rhonda) Soper

I attended Eaton High School for three year before graduating from Union County High School in 1991. After high school, I attended Ball State University. I graduated from Ball State in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a kindergarten endorsement. To keep my teaching license current, I took various courses from various colleges. I also attended many conferences to stay current with the ever changing education system. My favorite conferences were the National I teach K (kindergarten) Conferences held in Nashville, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada. I loved learning new things and implementing them into my classroom. Teaching was joy in my life!

In December of 1995, I was married to Gary McCashland. Gary is known as the Rodefelds or Napa guy, Ford or Mustang man or the mail carrier. He was also known as my classroom helper when I taught in Liberty. We were married for thirteen years.

I believe that God gives everyone a talent, it is left up to individuals to develop that talent. While being married to Gary, I worked at Liberty Elementary as a paraprofessional for one year and as a kindergarten teacher for thirteen years. I was always developing my talent as a teacher.

After Gary and I divorced, I met my current husband, Phil Smith, of Montery, Kentucky on E-Harmony. Yes, E-Harmony! He lives in Walton, Kentucky and I eventually resided there as well. Phil actually proposed to me twice. The first proposal was before we knew I had ALS and the second time was after we were told of my diagnosis. What a lucky gal I was when we were matched! I think most men would have ran after hearing that diagnosis. We were married in June in 2012. I became a stepmom to Courtney (C.J.) upon our marriage. We have three dogs named Pretzel, Elvis, and Henry. I can't tell you how much Phil and C.J. did for me during my battle with ALS. I love you both!

While living in Walton, Kentucky, I taught for two years at Reiley Elementary. Reiley is located in Alexandria, Kentucky. I had to resign due to ALS. It was a little hard to teach phonics when my speech was deteriorating and I was worn out by the middle of the day.

She was born August 30, 1973, a daughter of Warren David Puckett of Plano, Texas and Viola (Milliron) Davis of Bellefontaine.Jen was a bartender at Tumbleweed Restaurant in Bellefontaine. An avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State Buckeyes, she loved animals, music, arts and pottery painting. She was a member of the Bellefontaine F.O.E. #2166 and Bellefontaine Moose Lodge #2563.

Born on Valentine’s Day, Jennifer showed kindness, compassion and empathy to everyone she encountered. Christopher proposed to Jennifer in Lake Park, one of her favorite places in Milwaukee, and they married in 1999.

“Jen” earned her undergraduate degree and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. While raising her family, she worked as a clinical psychologist in Madison before her family relocated to Whitefish Bay in July, 2020.

She attended St. Mary’s schools and graduated from St. Mary’s-Colgan in 1991. She then attended the University of Kansas and graduated from Pittsburg State University. Jennifer received her Masters Degree in Mathematics Education from Pittsburg State University.

Jennifer taught at Notre Dame De Sion in Kansas City, Carthage High School and Ft. Scott Community College.
