today just right now as i type this i just finished watching
On the Case with Paula Zahn: A Mother Knows S24EP
i have never heard of this case prior to watching this episode.
it is about March 17, 1987, killing of Army Spc. 26-year-old Darlene “Krash” Krashoc, in Colorado Springs. Coloardo
this case happened in Colorado like The Unsolved Murder of JonBenet Ramsey
I won't go into all the case details but here some basics,
when f Army Spc. 26-year-old Darlene “Krash” Krashoc was found,
she was brutally beaten, and nearly nude except for a sock, so they surmise this was a sexually motivated homicide.
this crime happened in Colorado in March 17, 1987 nearly a decade before Jonbenet.
they found no semen on Darlene's body. trace of semen in her pants
her body was near a trash dump, but as the trash dumpster was locked it was placed near the trash dumpster with her clothes.
they found cigarette butt near the victim.
since this crime happened in 1987 DNA technology did not yet exist for forensic use, so they considered her ex-husband
and several soldiers who were last known with her as suspects
in 2006 the case was reopen and they used DNA entered into CODIS and no match. They also took DNA from the prime suspects and also no match.
they tested her clothing and cigarette butts via touch DNA for DNA and found unknown male DNA profile 1.
the DNA from the clothing also match the DNA found on the cigarettes.
here are some screen shots from On the Case with Paula Zahn: A Mother Knows S24EP1
under fair use, hopefully they won't get too mad
genetic geneology done on touch DNA samples taken from clothing and cigarette butts found near a trash dumpster.
at trial Michael Whyte couldn't explain why his DNA was on her clothing and cigarette butts
if applying the same scientific methodology in 26-year-old Darlene “Krash” Krashoc to The Unsolved Murder of JonBenet Ramsey leads to what conclusion, Ramsey or an intruder?
cases similar to this were also in a variety of programs from the Forensic Files to Expert Witness.
using science the best scientific explanation for what happened to Jonbenet using the same scientific methodology as was used to solve 26-year-old Darlene “Krash” Krashoc is an intruder did it.
RDI will claim of course that while the touch DNA found on the clothing of 26-year-old Darlene “Krash” Krashoc in 1987 is evidence, it is not evidence in the Jonbenet Ramsey case because why would an intruder leave a ransom note with the body and be unable to collect on a ransom note. for them this is a truer path to the crime than science
Michael Whyte was never a suspect and never interviewed and as he refused to explain the crime, it remains unknoown where or how he attacked Darlene, but he's in prison right now.
i once told my apprentice my ally is the Forensics, and what a powerful ally it is.

Krashoc’s murder remained unsolved until May 2019, when a CID forensic scientist had more than two dozen pieces of evidence tested for DNA. Working with genetic genealogists at the Virginia-based Parabon Nanolabs, authorities were ultimately able to trace the genetic material to Whyte.
“For 32 years, Michael Whyte was able to evade detectives successfully, but he was not able to evade technology that would prove conclusively that he was the person solely responsible for the rape and murder of Darlene Krashoc,” prosecutor Joseph Eden said during last month’s trial.
