JonBenet Ramsey crime scene DNA could be IDed in hours

JonBenet Ramsey’s brother is renewing his family’s appeal to Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to allow an independent agency to conduct DNA testing in the unsolved 1996 murder of his sister, who was 6, after a leading genetic investigator claimed she's confident her team could help.

Parabon NanoLabs, the Virginia-based firm Ramsey mentioned in his tweet, has a track record of using complicated and innovative genetic genealogy research techniques to crack cold case murders.

An expert DNA genealogist believes evidence locked deep within the archives of Boulder police station in Colorado could finally help solve who killed JonBenét Ramsey 25 years ago.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, DNA detective CeCe Moore said if given the chance she was confident new DNA technology, combined with her expertise, could help find whoever murdered the six-year-old.

"It might only be a matter of hours before that DNA contributor is identified," she told reporter Sarah Abo.
