As a kid of the 70s and 80s, there was only television.

On Saturday there was Saturday morning cartoons.

On Sunday there was sermons by large churches on all the major public television stations, abc cbs and nbc and others.

I used a dial on the TV, no remote, to change channels.

one of my favorite topics was The End Times.

Christians then (and now) say we are living in the End Times, there are signs of the times.

On Christian TV there was a preacher named Jack van Impe which I watched and at the time believed.

I now know that many Christians cited the ideas that came from Hal Lindsey The Late Great Planet Earth.

Ideas like helicopters were the locusts in Revelation.

The then Soviet Union would form an alliance with the Islamic state, all under direction of Satan.

The SU would equip Islamic states with nuclear weapons.

They would then declare war on Israel, with US standing strong for Israel as Christians and Jews must unite to stand against Satan and Allah.

Islam is the religion of the devil. They want to kill Jews.

There will be WW3 when the Islamic nations invade Israel, using Nukes and conventional weapons.

Some Christians said the rapture occurs before this happens, true christians will be teleported into Heaven.

others say it will be the times of Tribulation.

One trigger is the Temple Mount, which is now an Islamic holy site, but it is also on the location of where Jews would like to rebuild the Third Temple where Jesus in his Second Coming is to enter.

The Jews it was claimed were already converting to Jesus as witness by the Jews for Jesus movement.

Israel was reborn despite having been destroyed by the Romans 2000 years ago, and then Hitler and the Holocaust, this is all the providence of God.

These are all signs of the times of people rejecting God for Satan's lies.

again the one proof that this is all true is the reestablishment of Israel, and Israel's miraculous military victories over its Arab nations in several Israeli-Arab wars, where Arabs were supplied with weapons from the Soviet Union, all in league with Satan.

2000 years ago the Jews rejected Jesus as messiah so God punished the Jews by expelling them from their ancestral homeland in Israel by the Romans. That is God's judgment on the unbelieving Jews.

But God never forgot his first love, the Jewish people and his covenant with them.

The culmination of God's plan for Israel was Hitler and the Holocaust, which directly lead to Zionism and the re-establishment of Israel, in accordance to God's plan.

And Israel actually won its wars against the Arabs.

And in these end times many Jews will come to accept Jesus as the promised Messiah, as evidence by Jews for Jesus and Messianic Judaism, both of which had a presence in the city I live in.

at the same time there was the great Apostasy in the End times. Many Christians will abandon the true faith and turn to homosexuality abortion feminism communism drugs tattoos and other false idols.

to be honest when I see people with tattoos and body piercings and talk about doing drugs i found that then and now to be a bit off putting.

at the time I found it comforting. I now no longer believe this, for one thing the Soviet Union is no more.

even in 2022, I've over heard Christians say when Putin Russia invaded the Ukraine, Christians even in 2022 say it is all in accordance with biblical prophesy.
