I think it's possible Jeffrey R. MacDonald could be telling the truth.

on forums it scoffers mock at the idea that 4 hippies would say acid is groovy killed the pigs. he got the idea from the recent Charles Manson murders.

they also don't believe that while the 3 females were completely slaughtered with numerous stab wounds, Jeffrey got only a puncture that he think he self-inflicted.

yeah i agree it is seemingly unlikely but they did find this

A single fragment of skin was recovered from beneath one of Colette's fingernails, although this evidence was later lost.

ref Great Crimes and Trials of the Twentieth Century ISBN 978-0-671-71876-3 p. 161

they lost this, the crime occurred February 1970. obviously DNA testing could have shown this skin to have come from someone outside the family

they did find this though

Three hairs, one from the bed sheet, one found in Colette's body outline in the area of her legs, and a single hair measuring one-fifth of an inch found beneath Kristen's fingernail did not match the DNA profile of any MacDonald family member or known suspect.[168]

In September 2012, the district court conducted a formal evidentiary hearing regarding DNA evidence and statements relating to key witnesses who offered testimony indicating MacDonald's innocence. On July 24, 2014, the district court rejected these claims in their entirety and re-affirmed MacDonald's conviction on all counts. Reportedly, MacDonald was disappointed, but not surprised, with this ruling.[169][170] He presented a motion to alter or amend this judgment to the district court, although this was denied in November 2014. He then appealed the denial of this motion to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.[171] However, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit affirmed the district court's ruling on December 21, 2018.[172]

I think this DNA could be subjected to genetic genealogy to find the source of the persons who left that evidence. obviously if they have a prior criminal record of breaking and entering homes, or are sex and drug offenders, and match MacDonald's description, that could show MacDonald was telling the truth, as hard to believe as it may seem.

DNA and genetic genealogy could show Jeffrey R. MacDonald was telling the truth, he was an innocent man in prison all these decades.

there should be a petition that all of the blood evidence and all evidence be retested in 2021 using the newest DNA testing and and genetic genealogy on all unknown DNA

as a rational human being, i believe in following the evidence where they lead.

A single fragment of skin was recovered from beneath one of Colette's fingernails, although this evidence was later lost.

had this been kept it could have lead straight to the killer which may or may not be Jeffrey MacDonald.

as for the claims of scoffers, maybe the killers didn't like females, maybe they read about the Charles Manson murders and wanted to imitate them. maybe they all died of drug overdose. What a Face
