many RDI from websleuth to FFJ to Topix, to even FBI agents, are really stuck on the idea of a ransom note with the body in the house. If this is a kidnapping for ransom, why leave the body? If this is some kind of killing Jonbenet for whatever reason, why write a ransom note. conclusion: there was no Intruder. The Ramseys wrote the ransom note to explain why there is a dead girl in their basement.

this claim is total nonsense since killers and rapists still enter homes, even today, and leave behind semen with DNA that can be traced back to them, and does. there are of course many educated carefully planning criminals that go to great lengths to prevent DNA from being left behind, but it's still happens that that there are rapists who do.

So they one ignore the fact there are serial killers who kill and who write written messages, and two, serial killers who leave written messages as a way of gaining publicity and fame for their crimes. Some serial killers say it is a fun challenge or they have this obsession that forces them to do it.

one strong evidence this ransom note may have been intended not as a genuine ransom demand and a genuine kidnapping for ransom money, but as a joke is the fact it contains material that may be lifted from Dirty Harry.

there are many real world examples of crimes based on books and movies, the assassination of Ronald Reagan based on Taxi, assassination of John Lennon based on Catcher in the Rye, the alphabet murders, etc.

One real world example of a crime that was the result of twisted movie was James Eagan Holmess murder in Aurora Colorado. He saw himself as the Joker. As the Joker he thought it would be somehow awesome to shoot movie goers watching Batman.

To answer the above concern, the ransom note is not a genuine ransom note demanding money, and this was not a kidnapping for ransom money. The reason that there is a ransom note and the body in the basement is that the killer wrote the note as a kind of practical joke. The dark sick twisted humor that the killer found funny, is that when the Ramsay's read the ransom note, they believed their daughter was still alive. They then get ransom money. All along, she's dead, and in their own home. They then have to answer to LE. In the dark sick twisted mind of the killer, that's hilarious.
