I'm a woman who grew up in bay village and was a year or so older than Amy. I was called by a man around the time of her abduction who claimed my mother had been in a serious accident. A woman spoke to me on the phone as well and they encouraged me to stay on the line. I hung up on them and called my dad in a panic. My dad called the police and they came to take my statement. I was never contacted or questioned by the police again.

I got a very similar call, I also grew up in Bay and a guy told me my mom was in the hospital. He knew my name and my sisters. I was questioned once after it happened and then never again. Weird.

if it is either same perp or a copycat the story has changed from mom has a promotion to mom is in the hospital.

Jonbenet got a call claiming to be santa, she may have left the house out the front door, leaving it unlocked, directly to her abductor. she was murdered and her killer put the body back into the basement of the house and then wrote the RN and left.

Jonbenet was killed for the same reason Amy Mihaljevic, a thrill kill with sexual undertones, and by the same killer using the same method, a phone call and story.
