winter cold fireplaces
Sun Jan 20, 2019
an arctic blast has hit where i live, it's quite cold.
when i was a kid, i loved snow days, having school cancelled. my parents iirc though still had to work which i now know is dangerous driving.
in the 70s there was no commonly available personal computer, so i liked the image of sitting by a fireplace and reading a good book
though my idea of a good book would be something like an D&D book
via an adventure module
or comic book
at the time i was watching smurfs
i was thinking back in the 70s as a kid, before computers
how nice it would be to make this sort of thing last forever
to be a smurf, all food water heat provided, and school forever cancelled due to snow, so inside the home is a fireplace and warmth and outside is extreme cold and ice and snow. but it's cozy inside. throw in a cat to.
and i have either stacks of books like i mention to read, or a really good story teller of the fantasy like genre.
having magical powers and traveling to mountain tops in distant lands
sadly back to reality.

last sunday Jan 13, 2019 i had no power, no electricity, i was forced to use a gas fireplace which is the first time i've used it since i moved into this residence in over 10+ years.
it was cold and miserable. i seriously considered checking in a motel.
today it's still very cold, but i have home heating and i'm typing this on my desktop pc with internet.
in some ways having a pc and internet is a lot like a magical crystal ball.
in the 70s i was exposed to the idea of a magic crystal ball you can ask questions or see images.
today i can ask google to give me links to pages i want, or youtube on a computer.
i personally am not watching the chiefs vs patriots but a lot of people i know are.
well time for me to get ready for tomorrow morning, monday and all

Isn’t it a holiday for you tomorrow? MLK Day. Hubby is watching the game he’s hoping the Chiefs win. I’m watching True Detective. It’s cold here too, but I think we will be able to see the eclipse tonight. So much happening.

i feel like this is a fireplace chat of yore, though LOL this weekend my fireplace isn't on

i'm not familar with true detective but i've seen a couple of other crime shows. it is time consuming to post them.

Re: winter cold fireplaces
The first season of True Detective was outstanding. The second one I didn’t care for so much. This third one seems good so far. The eclips is supposed to start soon. I keep watching.
